Introducing PDF/A-4 Support in ORPALIS Imaging PDF and Document Processing SDKs

ORPALIS Imaging releases conversion and validation support for all PDF/A versions, including the latest PDF/A-4 ISO standard (19005-4:2020) and its subsets PDF/A-4e and PDF/A-4f.

PDF/A is the ISO standard for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.
Many industries use the PDF/A format for their archival needs, such as public administrations, healthcare, and the financial and legal domains.
An ISO standard since 2005, PDF/A is a safe and reliable way to ensure that electronic documents can be viewed and reproduced the same way in the future, no matter which software is used.

The PDF/A-4 specification was released in 2020, and this version includes several benefits brought by PDF 2.0 (ISO 32000-2:2020), the PDF version on which PDF/A-4 is based.
Major improvements include support for modern and current-generation technologies such as Unicode.
